This 6-week course will covering the basics of keeping honeybees and starting a successful first year hive using Langstroth hives. Topics will be biology and the life cycle of a honeybee, equipment, working in your apiary, common apiary failures, planting for pollinators, assembling a super & frames, harvesting, how to build woodenware and frames, marketing your harvest and more. Cost is $120 for up to 3 individuals from a family/homestead and includes a Beekeeper’s Handbook, medium super and frames, and 1-year family membership in the Champlain Valley Beekeeper’s Association.
