4-H Wild Edibles Curriculum Training

4-H Wild Edibles Curriculum Train-the-Trainers workshop is required for any CCE staff member, 4-H leader or adult who will be implementing the “New York’s Natural Resources 4H Wild Edibles—A Guide to Tradition, Safety, and Conservation” curriculum in their counties. Youth age 12 and older that are registered in a 4-H program may also attend the training if accompanied by an adult. Training will include: Curriculum, safety requirements, hands-on plant identification, utilization of plants as food, hands-on preparation of a “wild lunch”, the historic uses of plants as medicine, Native American heritage uses, ideas for fair displays, STEM connections, and introduction to the “Wild Edibles Exploring Nature Bucket” available for loan to counties. Participants will receive the program guide at completion of program.
