Cornell Cooperative Extension is pleased to announce the Supporting Healthy Families Program. This class will be offered via ZOOM for five Thursdays beginning on May 19th through June 16th from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon. There is no cost to attend. The program is based on Cornell University’s “Discipline Is Not A Dirty Word” and the “Parenting Skills Workshop Series” curriculums. It is appropriate for parents/caregivers with children from toddler to teens. It will combine basic parenting skills with healthy lifestyle skills offering parents/caregivers the unique opportunity to foster healthy relationships with the children in their care. The parenting skills will focus on encouragement, addressing misbehaviors in a positive manner, offering choices, discipline vs. punishment, looking at the environment instead of the child’s behavior and setting a good example. Healthy lifestyle principles will complement the parenting skills each week.
Pre registration is required.
